The 365 Project {2020}: December

I (we) made it!!! It’s officially the last day of 2020 and I’m so ready for it.

Today also marks my last photograph of my 365 {366} project of 2020!!! One photo taken each day of this year. This project has been a labor of love and I’m excited to look back through all of photos of this year and share my favorite photos of 2020 with all of you.

But today is December 31st, which means tomorrow is a new year and new start! And man was this month a busy one. I’m not even sure if I accurately documented it each day. But that’s okay, because sometimes life happens without my camera by my side and I’ve learned through this project that not every day is perfectly documented- I mean just finding the time to cull through all my photos and edit them is an achievement in itself. More on my project goals, achievements and misses on a later date because this mom right here needs to clean, pack and organize to bring in the new year.

So here’s my thirty-one days of December 2020…

The 365 Project {2020}: November

Well there’s only 14 more days till Christmas and I’m just now getting to my November post…just a couple weeks late, but who’s counting. This month along with most of 2020 has been stressful, something I feel like I’ve been saying for most of this year. I continue to struggle with finding a balance between being home twenty-four seven with my boys and finding time to for me and my work. But the good news is the year is almost drawing to an end, which also means that in just twenty more days I will have completed one year of the 365 day project. A photo taken each day of this year!! Boy have I been on the hot mess express the last few months, but this (almost) achievement feels really REALLY good.

Here’s my 30 days of November 2020…

The 365 Project {2020}: October

Today is the second day of November and October already feels like months ago. It’s a windy and bitter cold day and it still looks like quintessential fall in New England outside, which makes it hard to believe that just a couple weeks ago we were in sunny, hot Charleston packing up our house for the big move. It really feels like we jammed a whole year into one single month.

This October we sold our house in Charleston, said goodbye to family and friends, moved and closed on our new house in Southern Maine, started new schools, celebrated birthdays (to include turning FORTY) and of course Halloween!

October was also the first month since starting the 365 Project in January, that I failed to photograph each day of the month. And not because I forgot or because I wasn’t inspired that day to pick up my camera. On October 15th, my oldest son and I headed in our car for our sixteen hour drive from Daniel Island, South Carolina to Southern Maine, which became more like 18-20 hours of driving. We were on a mission and because it was just the two of us (my youngest flew days later with grandma), my camera stayed packed away underneath a huge pumpkin in the the passenger seat. I felt guilty in the moment (and still do) wanting to capture many moments of our drive, but instead of capturing with my professional camera we documented our trip on a handy little disposable camera! I’m sad I don’t have digital photos of our trip, but I’m excited to develop the film soon like I did as a kid after trips in the 90’s.

I’ll always remember this October of 2020, one of the most excitingly stressful months this year.

Here’s my thirty-one (really thirty) days of October 2020…
